It wasn't so long ago, when women were viewed as subordinate to their male counterparts. Men predominantly ruled the workforce, more specific the scientific job fields. Which is not to say women themselves have never contributed any ground-breaking innovations to the world of science; which they indeed have provided. Many women today still are subjected to sexism within the workplace.
